Industrial vacuums are the best solution for collecting and containing dust and debris in the workplace. It is important to learn the best practices on collecting and managing the dust and debris that your machine collects in order to improve the longevity of your machine. In this blog, we are going to explore how to manage dust/debris & liquids with your vacuum

DUST & DEBRIS

When dealing with a large quantity of dust, you want to ensure you are able to contain it properly afterwards to avoid having to re-clean.  There are different vacuum systems that allow all of the dust to be collected into a poly bag. This is especially helpful when the container needs to be emptied! Either, you can remove the poly bag and dispose of it OR remove the poly bag and empty it in a controlled environment. Poly bags are the cleanest way to remove dust and debris without the risk of spillage.

HEPA and ULPA filters are also key accessories to keep fine dust from entering the air. It is important to replace these filters regularly to ensure they are working efficiently and collecting/containing the dust particles.

LIQUIDS

There are a couple different ways to deal with liquids being collected. In a manufacturing scenario, there are machines that are able to remove the coolant used in machining applications. This vacuum is able to remove the chips and coolant, filter out the chips and pump the filtered coolant back into the manufacturing machine to be used again.

Vacuums that deal with liquid can be equipped with drain valves on the bottom of the recovery tank to allow for efficient draining. Vacuums can be equipped with stainless steel tanks to allow for easy clean outs & and maintain the longevity of the machine.
